Join the Society
The QUB Amateur Radio & Electronics Society is still young and always looking for more members. We welcome more users to the website and have made it easy to join.
There are two ways you can join the site:
- Signing up for the Society at one of our meetings, at official Society or QUB events, or through one of the Committee members.
- Signing up online to get access to the online resources but not become a member of the Society.
Who can join the ARES?
To become a full member of the Society, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be a student of the QUB
- Pay a nominal Membership Fee annually (outlined below)
Memberships are available (without voting rights) for other people, including students from other institutions and public schools, as well as QUB staff.
The prices for joining the Society are outlined by the QUB Students' Union and are as follows:
QUB Student: £3.00
Other Student: £5.00
Staff: £10.00
As a member, what will I receive?
If you decide to become a member of the Society, you will gain full access to the resources of the Society. This means available and easy access to equipment, a warm welcome to any meetings and events we hold, discounted rates for amateur radio training courses, and many other benefits.
We also aim to hold electronics workshops and similar events, with the participation of the School of EEECS, and other Queen's societies.
You will also be welcome to the social events and open days the Society holds.
In addition, you are very likely to meet like-minded people and expand your social circle into many more interesting areas.
